Q: I'm considering getting nomex racing gloves for karting seeing as how I'm moving into cars soon and I was wondering if nomex gloves come apart like their suit counterparts do in karting. Thanks in advance!
A: I use nomex gloves when karting... though my choice of gloves was aimed at something I use in my car at the track. In terms of grip and feel, they are great and I can't imagine not using them (or using something other than driving gloves). Compared to karting gloves, the main difference is usually the nomex material... unlike nomex driving suits though, the gloves are still aimed to handle some abrasive wear (it's not the material as much as the design and other aspects). Though, my perspective is aimed mainly from someone that drives often and karts for the occassional tuneup and a bit of fun when there's nothing on the schedule. Karting does seem a little harder on the gloves than what I have normally at the track, but nothing that's caused them to tear or wear dramatically faster.
