Q: http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/18062007/4/richards-hints-le-mans-plans.html A fine victory for Aston Martin, but a privateer, against the might of Audi, etc, you won't have a chance in hell against something like the R-10, or the like, unless the factory sells you the car, and you race it for/or against them. By the time you would finish developement of your own car(which your statement would imply, you would already be 3-4 years behind the bell curve). We not talking millions of dollars in investment here, or even hundreds of millions, more like billions of dollars. Otherwise, stay off the champage when your doing press release a few days after the race. Cheers...
A: Aston Martin is not what I'd call a privateer. Prodrive is DEFINITELY not what I'd call a privateer. Dave Richards is probably the most canny and intelligent team boss to emerge since Ron Dennis, so if he thinks he can crack F1 and Le Mans in consecutive seasons the only thing I can say is GET YOUR BETS ON NOW while the odds are still long.
