How Do you become a nascar or formula 1 driver or any race car driver?

Q:

A: Start out in go-karts, quater midgets, legend cars, or other low levels. Then as the driver's skills improve, move up into faster and more competitive classes. Also wouldnt hurt to attend racing schools to learn from professionals. The most important thing is seat time, so race as much as possible. Some of the most successful drivers today got to the top because of the hard work and sacrifice by them and their families when young. Also need to be able to network with other racers and owners to get the drivers name out there. Current Nextel Cup driver Carl Edwards actually used to pass out business cards to promote himself as a driver. The driver also needs learn how to be both personable and marketable to attract potential sponsors (money drives the sport). If a driver has the talent, personality, and the connections he/she will have a shot to make it to the national ranks.
