Q: What league has the best racers and highest level of competition? IRL, F1, or Champ Car?
A: I loves 'em all! I sure wish IRL and CCWS would end their "brat-spat" and give open wheel in America a fighting chance at second place (to F1, which seems to have a grip MOST of the time.) Mario Andretti (bless his heart) has been trying to get them to the table for ages, and it must be especially depressing for him when "the boys" won't play nice! As far as $'s in and $'s out: F1 definitely has the upper hand and the best-of-the-best of everything: cars, equipment, sponsorship, pilots. The only time they compare to American Open Wheel is with their leadership (where, IMHO, they all falter.) MY FINAL ANSWER: The best series is the one YOU like to watch/attend the most. Help THAT series stay alive by attending, PAYING for your tickets, and spending a bit on their souvenirs. WE ARE THEIR SALVATION! One way or another: The bickering (and subterfuge) should stop, as it is demeaning all the classes.
