Q: I love it been driving since I was 12 well at least knew how to then learned when I was 10 I get a thrill being behind that wheel when I can make it go fast I feel like I dont know I can't explain can I get my parents to let me race at the local track? its something i love to do how can i convince them well mom how i want to BAD i love the thrill im a girl its great i love making it go fast! it feels good i will never street race i promise u people on here that its pretty much my mom who has a problem im her baby girl and her only daughter so shes afraid i dont want cart racing i want racing on a race track ive drove karts and they just dont give me a nice thrill
A: I think you would have better luck with your dad, so i say talk to him about it. Most parents would be happy to see their child take some initiative and show some direction and responsibility. Show him that your serious about it by getting some of the tools and equipment together. If they wont help you finance it than you might want to set your sights a little lower like kart racing. Racing even hobby stocks can get expensive. If they absolutely refuse than i suggest that you just start getting a car ready now so you will be able to go racing on your 18th birthday. Parents hate to see something go to waste so if you got a car ready, they will probably let you use it. Also try to get your dad to go to some local races with you, buy a pit pass so he can get a really good look inside some cars. If he sees how these cars are built and the safety measures they require, he might be a little more open to the idea of letting his daughter race. Good Luck
