Do you think they should allow another tire manufacture in NASCAR?

Q: I think they should.... I think it brings better competition, as a avid motorcycle fan and racer, tire wars bring on better tires for consumers, better racing, as far as some say about safety, i don't see it, a manufacture does not want their product to have problems during competitions, and blowing up during races.... that's a bad image... this is my opinion whats yall's Jeff i completly understand that point... but i also think it would bring better racing..... for instance this past brickyard, if say BFG was in and they brought a good tire then it would have been a lop-sided race..... but on the other hand i bet goodyear wouldve brought another tire and i wouldnt of had to sit down and watch the "commercial 400"

A: I will answer this question with a question....do you remember the 1988 and 1989 seasons???? IF not, that's when HOOSIER TIRE entered NASCAR....some races were great...most were horrible as Goodyear and Hoosier fought each other week after week trying to come up with "faster" tires which often resulted in massive blowouts/crashes/etc. At this time...I don't think it would be wise especially with the COT being as new as it is. But when Goodyear's contract expires....I hope NASCAR takes a good look at BF Goodrich...I'd love to see them in NASCAR based on the success Hooters Pro Cup is having with them. But of course as always...merely my opinion. Edit: I see your point Thomas, Indy was a BAD BAD BAD race.....but who's to say BFG'S tire wouldn't have stunk as well? It's a double edged sword.
