Q: Why are there 2 pace cars separating the first half and last half of the field at the beginning of the race? always wondered.
A: The pace cars go at the speed limit for pit road, for whatever track they are at that week. It is easier for the cars to get a more accurate read on their tachometers if they are closer to the pace car. That is why they split them up into two groups before the race starts. 3 STR8 N 08!!!
