Q: ? WOW
A: on one of the shows that has an "over the wall" feature with a crew member this past weekend, it was mentioned that at most tracks, they get about 4.7 miles per gallon. i'm guessing that was "at most tracks like michigan" - intermediate to long tracks. but from what i've heard during races, that seems about right. considering that most "fuel runs" are about 80 miles and the fuel cells are 18.5 gallons, that would mean right about 4.324 miles/gallon, when running full speed. supposedly they get about twice that when running under caution, so about 8-9 gallons/mile under yellow.
