Q: Dale Jr. stated one time in an interview he'd like to drive it before he ended his career. Austin Dillion (Childress' grandson) is driving it in a lower series and seems to be on his way up through developement. Do you think the #3 should be retired (I know NASCAR has the policy that #'s can't be retired)? Should it return to NASCAR as a tribute to Dale SR. if nothing else. What's your thoughts???? I'd love to see it again on the track again and I agree it's only a #. To me it's like not having the #43 or the #21 out there every week. Great answer Maggie about the #3 being a different color couldn't agree more.
A: It is just a number, true. It would take a minute, however, to get used to seeing it on the track again. I agree with Maggie...any color but black would be kool. In black, it would mess with merchandising of Dale's #3. Other than that, I see no reason why it should not be on the track. If Dale were here, it would be on the track, I think he would want it to be run. It's a # with a history. Run it! Go Jr.>>>>
