Q: Does any one knows if the nascar cars chasis is not exactly aligned to go straight? I mean that when I see nascar on TV they seem like if they were going a bit sideways regarding the body from the direction that the car is going. I could say that around 2 or 3 degrees to the inside. Is that a strategy that they use so that the car could go faster on the turns or any thing else??
A: Yes you are right, the cars are "crabbing" or a bit sideways for a reason. The COT car is taller and by them "crabbing" the car gets them more side force so the cars go through the corners better. That has been what they have said as to why they are like that.
