Q: the brickyard was once nothing but bricks. now it's a paved track. i'm just wondering if the bricks are still there, but just got paved over, or were they ever removed. Nascar and everyone talks about how rough that track surface is. it makes me wonder if the old bricks are still there, just paved over and shredding them tires up like that. thanks. keep them answers coming. everyone's finding people and or others to blame for the poor race this past sunday. i've chosen the race track surface to blame until someone can prove me wrong. just keep them answers coming. thanks all.
A: Only the small strip that the winners kiss after the race. ----- An article on Jayski said NASCAR admitted that the track surface was not the problem. Now the fact that the track is basically flat and the turns are so long is the reason they wear tires out. The cars spend so much time turning at high speeds on a flat track that I would guess it heats the rubber up in the tires.
