Q: I think Kyle Busch, besides maybe having something to prove, has matured in the past year. I don't know if maybe Papa Gibbs or his family sat him down and talked to him and it got through, or what. Winning does help, I know, as far as his attitude, but he does'nt seem like such a jerk as he did in the past (although I know he can still act like it - ask Ron Hornaday). Also, had anyone noticed Rowdy has actually been apologizing (who'd have thought - J/k - lol) Not to mention that Kyle is a talented driver Btw.....I am not a Kyle Busch fan.
A: he hasn't matured a little, he's matured a LOT, especially in the last year - at least on the track. last year i remember him saying many times to his crew chief not to be surprised if he just wadded the car up. this year, he's been much more careful (i didn't say perfect), and he's really been able to pull off not only "big moves" like the restart saturday night in chicagoland, but also in the little things like "side-sucking" just enough air off jimmie's right side to get him loose, then run up the track to make sure jimmie didn't hit him if he got too loose because of it. as kyle himself said when asked about that particular move, had he tried that last year, more than likely both of them would have ended up in the wall. he's learning. off the track he's matured some - not as much as on the track maybe, but quite a bit. especially the last few weeks - he's been much more humble and sort of "shocked" and "awed" by his own success. he's seeming more human now, which he has always been, but it's coming across more now in his interviews.
