How to get into a racing career?

Q: If I am seriously considering entering the racing career is there a good way to start? In other words, is there an instituion that helps amateur racers succeed? I'm mainly interested in car racing such as Formula 1 and Indy. But for starters really any road course racing will do.

A: You will first have to get into local stock car races in your area. Many small tracks have something called 'Bomber' class which are just normal stock cars. You will have to make some modifications, most notably a roll cage, but beyond that, it isn't real expensive top get started. If you show some ability, you can work you way up to 'semi-modified class. Once you are known a little bit, you can start persuing local sponsorships from bussiness in your area, then start competing in other races, and you are on your way....!
