Q: Seriously, nationalities and teams aside.... who do you think is the best F1 driver right now. In my opinion it is Alonso and Barrichello comes in second. Cheers!
A: Alonso is the best driver by quite a long way. He's been the best since the end of 2005, and he's working miracles with a rubbish Renault this season. However he is a driver who needs to be "cuddled" and it's probably his biggest weakness; last year he experienced the "Ron" effect, as previously documented by Lauda, Prost, Coulthard and Montoya, which is what brought him back towards Hamilton as he felt badly let down by his team and this affected his performances.
