Q: In realtion to that other Hamilton question, if Hamilton got 10 points for crashing into Kimi, why was Kimi not penalised after the Sutil Monaco incident? I'm a big McLaren fan, so call me biased, but fark Kimi stuffed it just as bad at Monaco as Hamilton did on Sunday. 10 spot penalty, my bad, not 10 points. Ok, reading some of these answers the main argument is "in race" and "pit lane" differentiation. People get penalties for 'in race' faults all the time. Kimi surely should have got a drivethrough or a stopgo at Monaco. I don't see how the situation is any different. Yes, Hamilton had a [unpredictable] red light to tell him to stop. Kimi had the worlds most famous chicane [which as someone mentioned he'd crossed 60 times] to tell him to slow down. I don't know, I think theres some fallacies being committed by whoever's handing out the penalties.
A: In Monaco, Kimi was either trying a kamikaze move down the inside OR simply lost control - - - hmm, he'd driven that section 60 times already so why did he lose it that time? I kinda believe he might have been making a bone head move on Sutil. In which case, he'd be due a 10 spot penalty. But he's in a red car. On top of that, I'm not sure that Kimi was allowed to even be where he was when Hamilton hit him; are you allowed to go two abreast in the pits - even at low speed? If you look closely, by the time Kimi left his pit Kubica was already past him and yet Kimi pulled up a foot ahead of Kubica at the time of the impact from Hamilton. So isn't this "passing in the pit lane"? And therefore a 10 spot penalty for Kimi too - - IF we are to be fair. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeZ26RWjlEg Oh, but of course, he's driving a red car. . . .
