Q: who would make the better touring car driver? it would be great to see them race an equal car.....
A: Top rally drivers are quite familiar with smooth tarmac surfaces and extremely powerful cars, so that would not be a problem for them. They also drive in "close combat" at special events, so they are even used to scratch-racing, ice-racing etc etc. I can't say if Sebastien Loeb would beat Raikonnen on the track, but I know that Raikonnen would NOT beat Loeb in a rally, or even come anywhere near close. Historys has shown, that when rally-drivers race against Formula 1 men, it is the rally-drivers who win every time. Top F1 men have been trashed in the past by the likes of Stiq Blomquist (Sweden), whilst Michael Schumacher declined to pit himself against the late Colin Macrae because, in his own words, "the rally drivers always beat us." Interesting question, but I don't think we're about to find out the answer, even if it would make great TV!
